Fishers Police Confirm details surrounding a fatal incident that occurred early Monday inside Britton Tavern on Mundy Drive. Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. on December 1, 2025, where they located a man, later identified as 30-year-old Justin Burton, who had suffered a serious injury. Despite immediate assistance from officers and medics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities reported that 31-year-old Maclean Murt of Indianapolis was taken into custody at the location without incident. Preliminary information indicates that an interaction reportedly took place between the two individuals shortly before the incident. Further context has not yet been released as the investigation continues.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office confirmed Justin Burton’s identity and noted his role as a respected manager at the Conrad Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. His passing has brought tremendous sadness to family, friends, and members of the hospitality community who admired him.

Officials also shared general background details about the individual taken into custody, stating that he is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College and Carmel High School and is originally from Carmel, Indiana. Authorities emphasized that the charge is a preliminary accusation and that he is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.

Detectives from the Fishers Police Department are continuing to review evidence and gather information. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact Detective Derek Root at 317-595-3326.

Media inquiries related to the case are being directed to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office as the investigation moves forward.
